Our Story

At the heart of Birachaamau, where the soil remembers ancient wisdom and the wind hums with the songs of the Earth, Manas Gram Organic was born. Rooted in Indian philosophy and guided by nature’s rhythm, we cultivate every crop with intention — honoring the harmony between land, life, and community. We believe that food is more than nourishment — it is prana, it is healing, it is connection. That’s why we grow and gather only nature’s best: organic produce raised without chemicals, stored without compromise, and delivered with care from our village to your home. Our fields are tended by strong, wise women and men, the beating heart of Manas Gram, whose hands carry generations of knowledge and care. Their empowerment is our strength and their stewardship, our future. In every package lies a promise: of health and wellness, of natural living, and of a gentler way of being — one that sustains the Earth while feeding the soul. Manas Gram Organic is more than a business. It is a return — to purity, to balance, to what was always meant to be.

Subodh Dixit, Managing Director Manas Gram

Subodh Dixit is a community-rooted leader, natural farming practitioner, and the visionary Managing Director of Manas Gram Organic Private Limited, an enterprise dedicated to promoting organic agriculture, women’s empowerment, and environmental stewardship in rural Uttar Pradesh.

Hailing from Birachaamau village in Chaubepur Block, Kanpur Nagar, Mr. Dixit holds a postgraduate degree in History and a bachelor’s degree in Science. After spending six years in the private sector with leading multinational firms including HDFC, Kotak Mahindra, and ING (2004–2010), he transitioned toward purpose-driven, community-focused work. From 2010 to 2015, he founded and managed a play school and public school in his village — both of which continue to serve the community today.

His journey into natural farming began in 2015, following his election as Gram Pradhan of Birachaamau. Recognizing the power of collective action, he mobilized local women into self-help groups centered on sustainable agriculture and cow-based organic farming. Among these groups, the Annapurna Women’s Self Help Group emerged as a pioneering force — partnering with Mr. Dixit to establish the Manas Gram brand in 2019.

With a deep commitment to soil health, food purity, and rural livelihoods, Mr. Dixit has led efforts to build farmer cooperatives, secure organic certification, and promote cow-based natural products. His leadership bridges tradition and innovation — helping farmers and women entrepreneurs access new markets through government and private exhibitions across India.

Today, through his role at Manas Gram Organic, Mr. Dixit continues to nurture a movement — one that places nature, community, and women at the center of India’s agricultural future.

Annapurna Women’s Self Help Group

The Annapurna Women’s Self Help Group is a grassroots collective of women farmers based in Birachaamau village near Kanpur, India. Established in 2015 with the vision of fostering economic independence, environmental stewardship, and holistic well-being, the group empowers rural women to lead sustainable livelihoods through organic agriculture and cooperative action. In 2019, Annapurna began marketing its products under the brand name Manas Gram and in the same year, it received its organic certification from the Uttar Pradesh State Government.

Annapurna promotes the principles of self-reliance, shared learning, and dignified labor. Members receive hands-on training in organic farming techniques — including composting, seed preservation, and natural pest management — enabling them to grow chemical-free produce that nourishes both people and planet and making jams, pickles, and pappads from the Uttar Pradesh Department of Horticulture and Food Processing. The group also runs microfinance initiatives, giving members access to small loans for agricultural inputs and household needs.

Under the leadership of President Mrs. Sushma Dikshit, the Annapurna collective has gained local and regional recognition for its impact. Mrs. Dikshit has personally met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath, who not only endorsed the group’s work but also enjoyed the packaged organic products prepared by its women — a powerful testament to the quality and care woven into every offering.

More than an economic venture, Annapurna is a circle of solidarity, where women support each other, grow as leaders, and build a regenerative future for their families and communities. Their work uplifts entire households — improving nutrition, increasing girls’ education, and modeling a more inclusive rural economy. By investing in the Annapurna Women’s Self Help Group, we invest in a movement — where rural women are not only cultivating crops, but also growing resilience, restoring dignity, and leading transformation from the ground up.

Members of the Group include: Mrs. Sushma Dikshit (President), Monica Tiwari (Secretary), Pooja Kashyap, Deepa, Maiti, Sapna Pandey, Swati Shukla, and Simpal Yadav.
